This Holland Michigan Winter Engagement Session was such a blast! BRRRR, oh my lands this session was so frigid. I love shooting in the winter but this session was definitely a cold one. Bryce and Ciara are good friends of mine for the last few years. This Holland Winter Engagement Session was one of my favorites.
Bryce came to me this past fall and we set up a whole surprise proposal. It was the cutest thing. Since that session, we were waiting for a snowy winter day to shoot their winter engagement photos and we definitely got that. It was 9 degrees and slightly windy but man did we have fun. We decided that Laketown beach would be a great place to shoot. The dunes and the beach were so fun capturing the Michigan winter and coastline.
With engagement shoots, I love making them feel natural and “date” like as much as possible. It gets Raw and Authentic images, and I love that. It also makes the experience as a couple sooo much better. You don’t feel so much pressure to tuck in and look super formal. Rather be yourselves and enjoy each other and show your real love.
There are so many cute dates you can do in the wintertime. Here are a couple of my favorites.
- Ice Skating at Rosa Park Circle
- Drinks on the town. Get out and do some beer hopping and walk through the Snowy City.
- Sledding Down Charlies dump
- Skiing at Bittersweet or Cannonsburg
- Ohhhh a fan favorite the Light show at 5/3rd Ballpark
